TREY HALL & ASSOCIATES
FAQ'S
How much does your service cost?

We provide our services through easy monthly payments. Our
set up fee is $99 on our standard services and $129 on our
premium services. Monthly payments are as low as $69 per mo.
You may cancel at anytime. Because everyone’s report will vary
in number and type of negative items, the length of time
needed to restore your credit will vary. We offer the services of
a credit specialist to oversee your case. The bottom line is that
with Trey Hall & Associates, we believe that you get better
service with fast results, and our clients can receive the
additional advice, education and knowledge needed to help
them reestablish, and maintain their good credit.

Do you offer a service Guarantee?

Trey Hall & Associates warranties the success of its work by
offering a satisfaction guarantee. In the event we are unable to
improve your credit in the time frame explained in the Client
Agreement, we will continue working on your file until we do,
free of charge. Please keep in mind that every case is different
and no specific results can be predicted.

How long will it take to restore my credit?

The amount of time it takes is different in every circumstance.
Many of our clients see good progress within the first 60 days.
Often we can increase a persons credit score by a full letter
grade in the first cycle.  The progress of your case will also
depend on you forwarding credit reports to us as soon as you
receive them.

How much will you increase my Credit Score?

An average of 80 points within four months although we have
been as successful as 200 points.  There are many factors that
affect a credit score besides negative credit although negative
credit is the major factor.  Even if we remove all negative items
from your report, your credit score may be one that only
increase 60 points due to other factors affecting the score like:
length of credit history, credit mixture, outstanding balances. As
part of our service we will help show you  a breakdown of what
makes up the credit score, and advise you how you can
improve your score.

Why should  I hire, THA, as compared to other similar services?

Trey Hall & Associates is a leader in the area of consumer
credit improvement, that specializes in nothing, but credit
issues.  Unlike other similar services, as a part of our program,
we also offer our clients educational information and
techniques, that will help them re-establish and maintain a good
credit profile. With THA you are not just a number, you will
receive real one on one consultation and friendly service.

Will you get 100% of all of my negative items removed?

We will do our best, and have been 100% successful on many
occasions, though we average 75 - 80%.  No one can
guarantee 100%, and if they do, be very cautious.

Why do the results differ?

Our firm uses the consumer protection laws to their fullest
extent on your behalf, sometimes the Credit Bureaus, Creditors
and Collection Agencies provide what the law requires,
sometimes they don’t. Our Firm is completely thorough every
time in enforcing your rights, but our opponents may not: which
is why the results vary.

What items can you remove?

Bankruptcies, collections, charge-offs, foreclosures,
repossessions, medical bills, credit card debit, inquiries, late
payments, judgments, tax liens, student loans, settlements.

What items can’t you remove?

There is not one type of negative item that cannot be removed
from a credit report. Of course items like a bankruptcy or
unpaid debts are more difficult to remove, but it is possible to
remove them.

Do you work on removing inquiries?

Yes, depending on the program you choose, we are able to
include inquiries for no additional charge. Most of the time we
are successful at removing inquiries, however in some
instances there are a few that may not come off.

Will what you take off ever come back?

Credit bureaus will often delete a negative listing temporarily if
they haven’t received a reply to their investigation after thirty
days.  If the creditor verifies the negative item at a later date (i.
e. 45 days after the bureau contacts them) sometimes, the
credit bureau will put the negative back onto the report.  This
does not mean that the item cannot be disputed again, and
removed.  In most instances, the creditors fail to respond to the
investigation and negative items are permanently deleted.

What risks will I be taking?

None.  The worst we can do is improve your credit and not fulfill
the requirements of our satisfaction guarantee in which case we
continue working until we do.  The best we can do is improving
your credit tremendously and save you thousands in interest
charges over the next several years.

What does a credit score range from?

300 to 850

What is a good score?

680 and above is considered “a” credit, but to be honest it is
best to have a 720 or above.

What determines a credit score?

35% Payment History
30% Account Utilization (balances being carried)
15% Length of Credit History
10% Types of Credit (mixture is best)
10% Inquiries

Should a person pay off their debt?

Only if it is a credit card.  Paying collections usually decreases
the credit score due to the date of last activity becoming
recent.  Only pay collections in escrow if you are buying a
house or refinancing since the loan will go through before the
negative effect of paying the collection or lien takes place.
Sometimes we are able to get the collection agency to remove
the item pending at least a partial payment.

Does paying off liens & collections improve my credit?

In the long run yes, but in the short term it does not have much
of an effect at all, unless the amounts have a balances listed in
the “past due” section of the report.  In that case I suggest to
pay the balance in the past due column if it is less than two
years old, but remember; whenever you make a payment on a
collection or a charge off, the seven year clock starts all over
again and the item will be reported for seven more years form
the date of payment.  If you never pay a collection then it will
disappear seven years after the time you last made payment on
the credit card that resulted in the collection.

What is a healthy balance to carry on my credit card?

As close to zero as possible, especially if you are planning to
apply for credit in the near future, but typically you want to keep
your balances between 30% - 50% of your credit limit.

How do I get updates on my case?

You will receive updated credit reports from all three credit
bureaus once every 45 to 60 days.  At that time you will see
what was deleted and will need to mail the originals to us so
that we can continue working on the remaining items.  You will
actually know what was deleted before we do, which is why it is
so important that you forward all credit bureau correspondence
within a few days of receiving it.

How much bad credit does it take to be denied?

Even one late payment can sometimes get a person denied for
new credit.  There are many factors like income, credit history,
balances being carried on credit cards and number of credit
cards that can result in a denial even if you have almost perfect
credit, but getting the negative credit removed is the most
important step you can take in increasing your chances of
approval.

Should I close any of my credit cards?

NO, NO, NO. Closing credit cards will only decrease your score
due to your debt ratio increasing as a result of the closed
account and also can decrease the average length of time an
account was open.  Never close a credit card is the best advice
you can give someone.

How much do inquiries hurt the score?

Anywhere between 2 and 50 points. They are only supposed
show up for 2 years from the date of the inquiry, However it is
common to find inquiries on a report from several years ago.

How many credit cards should a person have?

2 to 4 cards are optimal, but more won’t hurt the score
significantly, unless you have to much available credit
compared to your income.

Does my score go down if I pull my own personal credit report?

Yes, it can affect your score if you run those “free reports” that
you can get from the Internet or when you apply for credit.
However, a person may contact one of the Credit Bureaus to
obtain a copy of their report without affecting their score.
Thanks to new laws and an amendment to the FCRA, you are
now allowed one free copy of your report from each bureau per
year. (more about annual free copies:

How do you restore bad credit?

Once we have received your paperwork, our first step will be to
draft letters to dispute negative items on you behalf.  We write
these letters to communicate your dispute in a way that the
credit bureaus will accept the dispute and conduct an
investigation.  After the first set of updates is received, THA will
have a full picture of your credit situation from all three
bureaus. Our credit specialists will know what strategy to apply
to accomplish the best improvement in your credit profile in the
shortest amount of time.

While this may sound easy, many people who have attempted
to dispute their own credit will tell you otherwise.  According to
the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the credit bureaus can ignore
your dispute for a variety of reasons.  Our experience shows a
large percentage of dispute letters sent directly from
consumers are rejected under one pretext or another.

Trey Hall & Associates uses the
Fair Credit Reporting Act
and/or The Fair Credit Billing Act when helping our client
improve their credit. We work around the clock to develop
strategies that prevent an undesirable result.  If you are in a car
accident, you have the right to sue the opposing party for
damages and represent yourself in court, but would you do that
if you wanted to win or would you hire an Attorney that does it
on a day-to-day basis and knows instinctively what to do when
a problem arises.  A disputed credit listing must be accurate
and verifiable for it to remain on the credit report.  If the credit
listing is only somewhat inaccurate, the credit bureau may
simply change the item to reflect the accurate status.  Very
often, though, disputed credit items cannot be verified or the
creditor can no longer possesses the information or does not
wish to go to the steps demanded by THA to verify it.  For these
reasons, properly disputed credit items are removed with
tremendous frequency.

How do you do this legally?

Although the credit bureaus would like to have you think that
our service is illegal, they are wrong.  Fixing your credit is your
right under Federal Law and we at THA will make sure that your
rights are invoked to their fullest extent. We completely exercise
your rights as set forth in the
Fair Credit Reporting Act and/or
the Fair Credit Billing Act. You have the right to disagree with
the results on your credit report just as you have the right to
plead “not guilty” in a court of law.
